Transatlantic Record Attempt Message Board
Dear Mike, Chris, Louise, we are all so sad that conditions in the end got in the way of what looked for so long like a new record. You must all be very disappointed indeed after such a heroic effort. But we are thrilled to have Leopard back in our home waters again and hugely looking forward to the summer. All best wishes as ever from ICAP.
Loved following the Captains Message’s…… Tough luck on the weather but pleased you’re all safe and well (including the boat!) I’m sure Leopard will be enjoy being back in her home waters of Southampton. Best Wishes, – Portia D

Great effort but the weather systems did not materialise, you’ll have to try again – next year!!! I was just looking at the Nationality of your crew list and there is a particular bias toward Australians – very good choice mind you, however I hope your two token KIWIS do not feel isolated or threatened in any way as this must be a very unusual situation for them being so vulnerable!
Good luck with the season and there are plenty of records open. - Dave P
Hey Gang – Chris and boys – Rotten luck on the weather situation! Yes did always look tight at the end, but wow what a ride hey? Pretty close – that is why they are records, and special!!
